Sustainable Development Fees (SDF)
SDF is a nightly fee levied to visitors to enhance the development of Bhutan. The SDF plays a crucial role in the development of the country which creates sustainable opportunities for the people of Bhutan through free healthcare, education and training, upskilling the tourism and hospitality industry, improved infrastructure, environmental preservation and conservation, cultural preservation programs and initiatives that support local businesses and economies. It also helps in maintaining the forest cover to uphold the carbon neutral for which our small nation is world-renowned and globally critical. The SDF also helps us to ensure that we can continue to offer guests tranquility and an intimate experience. The SDF applicable are as follows:
International Passport Holders
- $100 per person per night (above 12 years old)
- $50 per person per night (between 5 to 12 years old)
- No charge for the child below 5 years old
Indian Passport Holders
- INR1200 per person per night (above 12 years old)
- INR600 per person per night (between 5 to 12 years old)
- No charge for the child below 5 years old
Note: the aforementioned age limit should not cross the same from the intended date of departure from Bhutan.
