Payment Procedure
Payment for your trip has to be sent by bank transfer to the Bank of Bhutan in Thimphu, Bhutan. Some banks are not able to send funds directly to Bhutan and in that case, they will use an intermediary bank. We can provide details of intermediary banks in USA, Singapore, Germany and UK. Please ask us if your bank needs these details.
Payment for tours for Indian nationals may be made in local currency to the Punjab National Bank in Bhutan – we will provide details when you are ready to make payment.
We would require the tour payment at least before 7 weeks to process the visas and finalize the arrangements for your booking. We would not require advance deposit during the time booking but if you want us to handle your tickets, we would ask for you to make the payment just for the tickets. We might also require advance payments before 7 weeks, if you are staying in luxury accommodations. We will provide you with all the information needed to make the transfer once your choice of trip is confirmed.
Payment Shortfalls
Payment shortfalls are common while making international transactions because the intermediary banks deduct their charges and also due to the exchange rates. For this reason, we charge US$35 on top of the entire tour payment to cover the bank charges so that we don’t lose the tour payment. If there is a shortfall of more than this, we will confirm to you the exact amount received (and if requested send you a copy of the receipt from our bank) and will ask you to make up the shortfall in US$ cash on arrival. However, if you make multiple transactions, we will have to add-on the above amount in each transaction so we recommend to make one-time transaction to avoid bank charges.
The bank charges for Indian passport holders will depend on the amount so we will share the charges accordingly during the time sending you the cost details, however, the charges would not exceed INR2000 for the entire tour payment with one-time transaction.
